Once upon a time, Bee Merriman was a hippie on a houseboat in Amsterdam. She couldn't afford presents for her friends, so she wrote and illustrated stories to give to them. Since then, she's been a cook, a cleaner, a radio broadcaster (working on BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour) and a newspaper journalist.
Bee now spends most of her time designing and illustrating books for adults with learning disabilities, but she is also a children's book illustrator and a creative writing teacher.
In addition to all of this, Bee is also a professional storyteller. She has performed at Glastonbury's Kidz Field and Green Field, as well as venues from Orkney to Cameroon.
When she's stuck for ideas, she blows bubbles and daydreams. She likes Marmite, gardening and cats.
