Jane, a former English teacher with a Joint Honours degree in History and Psychology, changed direction for a career in sales and marketing before progressing to run her own businesses.
These challenging years, though exciting and rich with experiences, also proved exhausting so she and her husband sought a "quieter life" in Quercy, southwest France.
Here, they continued their passion for renovating old properties; this time a crumbling old stone fermette and began to live "the dream".
However, finding the countryside too quiet for her liking and unable to feel fully alive without a personal challenge, Jane decided to write a novel; a dream nursed since childhood when she first learned the joy of story telling.
Intrigued to read that this seemingly heavenly place of breathtaking beauty had such an ugly and turbulent history, she chose it as the backdrop to her story.
Nowadays, Jane, her husband, Alastair and scruffy bear-like French rescue dog, Daisy, are back in England to support her aged parents. Also glad to be nearer to her daughter and step-family, she still misses life in Quercy, but whilst she has left France, she knows that, whilst ever she has her writing, France will never leave her.
