Perdita and Honor Cargill
Perdita has always wanted to be an author but she left the Scottish fishing village she’d grown up in to read Law at Oxford. After many years working as a competition lawyer in London and Brussels, followed by a Masters degree in Human Rights and then the Bar, she spent a few years as a tax laywer despite being innumerate. She is now back on track and in January 2016, published her first novel, Waiting for Callback with her daughter, Honor.
Honor is nineteen, and last year, received her A-Level results. At eleven Honor was signed to a child actor’s agency, and Honor and Perdita’s experience of the auditions and callbacks served as inspiration for their first novel.
Honor and Perdita write collaboratively but very rarely together – once the plot has been thrashed out they go their separate ways and have had to get used to some pretty tough criticism from each other.
Waiting for Callback is published by Simon & Schuster, and their second book, Waiting For Callback: Take 2 was published on 28th January 2017.
