Alison Barrow
Agent: David H Headley
Alison Barrow has worked for over 30 years in PR in UK publishing alongside some of the most successful writers published in the last three decades.
Born and raised in Harrogate in Yorkshire, her roots continue to inspire her work and creativity every day. Yorkshire never leaves her side. An avid reader since she first collected six books every Saturday from the local library, Alison’s reading tastes are wide. Even when dog walking, she has an audiobook with her. Alison began writing fiction quietly in the time she was away from her day job, on trains, in airports, in hotel rooms, on the commute, at home.
She has won multiple major industry awards for her publicity campaigns including three British Book Awards (Nibbies) including one each for global bestsellers Paula Hawkins’ The Girl on the Train and Bonnie Garmus’ Lessons in Chemistry. She was Dan Brown’s UK publicist for The Da Vinci Code, and has worked with him since.
She is long-time trustee of The Women’s Prize, serves on the Board of Capital Crime Festival and was twice named The Booksellers Association Publicist of The Year. Alison is long-term publicist for award-winning writers Kate Atkinson, Tess Gerritsen, Paula Hawkins, Ruth Jones, Rachel Joyce amongst others and lives in Buckinghamshire, although her heart belongs to Yorkshire.
