Clare Murphy

Born and raised in Dublin and currently living in Bristol, Clare has been writing since she could hold a pen.

For the past 20 years Clare has worked full-time as an Oral Storyteller, telling myths and folktales on stages from Singapore to Soho. She has performed for Irish presidents, at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory as well as at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre.

Clare believes that she is in service to Story and that Story is in service to the world; it acts as a tool for transformation and access to wonder. Oral Storytellers have always been a huge part of how our culture knits together community, shares value and inspires action.

Known online as @storyclare, she has brought the ancient art of storytelling firmly into present day.

A regular performer with Women Who Gave No F**ks, Clare’s upcoming book centres women and goddesses and reignites Celtic mythology with a bawdy punk feminist flame.
