Leon Romero-MontalvoAgent: Tom Drake-Lee
Leon grew up in the mountains of Western Andalucia and, having loved the TV show LA Law, graduated in- well, Law, at the University of Seville. He wanted to be the one having a swim and drinking orange juice in the morning before driving a convertible to the office. He also loved V, but thankfully that didn’t lead to anything.
Whilst pretending to be a marine during his National Service, a serendipitous encounter veered him off course and landed him waiting tables and carving beef instead, in London, which he has been unable to leave since the mid 1990’s. Having fallen in love with a Scottish accountant, he developed a sexy but sadly short-lived Glaswegian accent and a long-term career in Finance (so much for serendipity), which, over a quarter of a century, took him from the hair-raising rollercoasters of multinational corporations to the jaunty merry-go-round of Publishing, where he has been serving time for over a decade. Leon loves fiction, and, after all the years concocting budgets, conjuring up forecasts and assessing the appropriateness of royalty advances, he’s not too bad at it. In his free time, he fantasises about leaving London and being on a long empty beach in Western Andalucia. Perhaps having a swim. Perhaps drinking orange juice. |
