Mandy Robotham is a journalist turned midwife turned writer, who always felt she had a book in there somewhere, and has finally teased it out. When she isn’t birthing babies, she writes about birth, death and anything else in between, mostly with a good flat white by her side.

Mandy lives in Stroud, Gloucestershire, and is a proud Mum to two boys. She loves feisty women, Jane Austen, coffee shops worldwide, is an enthusiastic but ploddy gym-goer and knits what her children call  odd things.

It goes without saying she adores books, and the agony/ecstasy of writing.

In March 2023, it was announced that Mandy will be penning two further historical novels under the pen-name, M. J. Robotham. These are The Scandalous Life of Ruby Devereaux (April 2024) and Mrs Spy (May 2025), both from Head of Zeus.
