Author Gareth Brown funds three new Goldsboro Writing Academy scholarships

Novelist Gareth Brown has endowed funding for three fully paid scholarship places across the 2026 and 2027 Goldsboro Writing Academy courses, beginning in March 2026.

The new scholarship will sit alongside the existing scholarship and bursary support provided by the DHH Literary Agency.

Brown said: “I have no doubt that the publishing world is better when anyone, whatever their circumstances, has the chance to share their stories. That is why I am delighted to be able to provide sponsorship to the Goldsboro Writing Academy – I can’t wait to see what stories will emerge.”

The Goldsboro Writing Academy was established by writers in partnership with Goldsboro Books and the DHH Literary Agency with the goal of offering accessible, high-quality creative writing courses. It aims to combine craft teaching with a practical understanding of the publishing industry, delivered by authors and supported by agents, commissioning editors and publishing professionals.

Gareth Brown is the author of The Society of Unknowable Objects (Bantam, August 2025) and The Book of Doors (Bantam, February 2024). His agent is Harry Illingworth.
