Embla Books snaps up two more 'hilariously relatable' books from bestselling author Kathleen Whyman

Embla Books, the digital-first imprint of Bonnier Books UK, has signed two more books from bestselling author Kathleen Whyman. The team acquired world English language rights from Emily Glenister.

The Mother of All Comebacks, the first book in the deal, is a hilariously relatable and feel-good read. It follows Becca, whose daughter's departure for university leaves her with an empty nest, a stagnant marriage and a career setback that has her losing her grip on all of her labels - mum, wife, employee. Forced to move in with her estranged mother, Becca is confronted by the fact that her life doesn't look at all like she expected it would. And if things are going to change, she's going to have to be the one to change them. Throwing on her best pair of mum jeans, and fighting against all of her instincts, Becca must learn to put herself first. But how can she embrace her second act when she doesn't even have a second to herself?

Whyman said: "Having worked with Embla on Would You Ask My Husband That? and Has Anyone Seen My Husband?, I'm thrilled that they're publishing my next two books. Bea Grabowska is fantastic to work with - she totally gets my humour and passion for giving a voice to all the multi-tasking, mentally overloaded women, who put themselves on the subs bench for the sake of their family, then realise they don't have it all — they do it all!"

Grabowska said: "Kathleen has an incredible talent for writing authentically and candidly about very real and relatable issues around motherhood and family life, balancing emotional honesty with razor-sharp wit and humour. I can't wait for readers to go on this journey with Becca as she inspires all of us to take control of our own lives and reminds us that you're never too old for a rebrand!"

Embla will publish The Mother of All Comebacks on the 12th March 2026 and Whyman’s fourth book will be released in 2027.
