DHH Literary agency is thrilled to be opening its doors to unrepresented writers who would like to pitch their novels to experienced agents. Five agents will be available for a ten-minute slot for an individual pitch session. Each writer will receive honest and valuable feedback. The agents are approaching this with a view to finding new clients. The pitch sessions will run from 4pm to 7pm on 12th April at Library Club on St Martin’s Lane.

Each writer will only be able to approach one agent on the team so do choose carefully. Information on the event and what each agent represents can be found at www.dhhliteraryagency.com. To apply for a place, you will need to email your work in advance. Spaces are limited so please submit your work promptly. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday 5th April at 6pm.

Please send an email to pitchdhh@dhhliteraryagency.com with the name of the agent of your choice in the subject line of your email, including a cover letter, synopsis, and the first three chapters of your novel. If you do not follow these guidelines your work will not be considered.

David H Headley: David is actively seeking well-written stories with strong characters and an original narrative voice across both general and genre fiction with a particular fondness for crime, thrillers, adventure and romance.

Broo Doherty: Broo is currently looking for novels that either put a new spin on the familiar, or take her out of her comfort zone. These could be in any of the following genres: psychological thrillers, crime novels, women’s fiction and literary fiction.

Hannah Sheppard: Hannah is looking for children's fiction from 9+ (in particular ghost stories, and something to make her laugh), YA (especially contemporary or epic feeling romance; something to make her happy cry) and commercial fiction with a killer hook. She'd love to see diverse voices both in terms of author and character.

Natalie Galustian: Natalie is committed to working with new writers and nurturing talent. She is looking for compelling narrative non-fiction, literary fiction, short stories and humour.

Harry Illingworth: Harry is looking for mould-breaking genre fiction with unique voices and concepts; books that can crossover from genre fiction to commercial. This could come in the form of accessible science fiction, epic fantasy and strong, high-concept crime/thrillers.

We are pretty damn excited to point you in the direction of our friends over at Fantasy Faction, who have just revealed the simply stunning cover for the debut fantasy novel from Anna Stephens, Godblind. Go on, take a look, you won’t be disappointed, and Anna has even written a piece to go alongside the reveal.

Godblind is published on June 15th by HarperVoyager and is an incredible grimdark fantasy novel in the same vein as Joe Abercrombie, Scott Lynch and Mark Lawrence. We’re truly in love with this intricate and beautiful cover and we hope you feel the same way.

Godblind is HarperVoyager’s lead 2017 debut, and is set to be the fantasy debut of the year – The Red Gods Are Rising…

It has been a thousand years since the Red Gods were exiled, and the Mireces people humiliated. Now, from the mountains they were banished to, King Corvus is planning his revenge.
Dom is a Watcher and devoted follower of the Dancer, but cursed with a power which sees him gripped by terrifying prophecies of the future. When slave Rillirin escapes the Mireces and arrives in Watcher Village, Dom foresees the unthinkable: a terrible war between Rilpor and the Mireces.
After prince Rivil fails his attempt to kill his father and seize the throne, he flees Rilpor and falls in with a band of Mireces, converting to their faith, and promising to aid them seizing the throne.
Dom must convince Rilpor to trust his prophecies if they’re to stand a chance against a Mireces invasion. Because war is coming, as the world as they know it is under threat like never before.
