Also announced this week was the acquisition of Eva Björg Ægisdóttir’s debut novel The Creak on the Stairs, by Orenda Books, along with one untitled novel. Eva won Iceland’s inaugural Blackbird Award, sponsored and judged by stalwart Icelandic authors Ragnar Jonasson and Yrsa Sigurðardóttir. The award encourages Icelandic authors to try their hand at crime, writing in their own language. The book will be published in spring 2020.
