The cover for Joanna Toye's sixth Shop Girls book, Wedding Bells for the Victory Girls, was revealed this week:

Summer 1945. After victory in Europe, best friends Lily, Gladys and Beryl are looking to the future. But even with this happy news, their lives are far from simple…

Despite Lily’s joyful summer wedding, she has doubts over what her heart wants now. As she adjusts to her role as young wife, could this signal the end of her position at Marlows?

The return of Gladys’s husband Bill raises questions of their family life as he struggles to find work after the Navy, and for Beryl big changes at her bridal shop are afoot.

As the girls start to move on with their lives, they have never needed to stick together more…

The book will be published by HarperCollins in March 2022 - preorder here.

Sarah Bonner's debut, Her Perfect Twin (published last week) has picked up some fantastic reviews in the last seven days, and we couldn't wait to share them:

"In a twist on the he said / she said trope, Her Perfect Twin is split into five parts, with multiple protagonists and differing viewpoints. Bonner cleverly avoids repetition in the various narratives and the result is a compelling read, surely destined for the screen. Harlan Coben meets Liz Nugent in a thrilling tale of deadly deceit."
Irish Sunday Independent

"A twisted tale I could not have loved more."
The Sun

"A perfect thriller, we read this in one sitting!"
Closer

"A perfect twisty thriller."
Bella

"Lockdown novels tend to be a bit Marmite - although this one does up with a dilemma that would probably have floored Jonathan Van-Tam at a press conference ... convincing and entertaining."
Daily Mail

Richard Swan's forthcoming debut, The Justice of Kings, has sold to the following territories recently:

  • Czech Republic: Host
  • Poland: MAG
  • Russia: Eksmo

These rights join Spain (Trini Vergara Ediciones) and Germany (Host).

Eliza has a full house! When her three children grew up and moved out, she downsized to a smaller property... but now they're all back. Every room in the house is taken and Eliza finds herself sharing her bed with her eldest daughter and her daughter's pug. Combined with the online course she's trying to finish, plus her job to fit in, there just isn't the peace and quiet that Eliza needs.

So when an ad pops up on her laptop saying 'house-sitters wanted', Eliza can't resist the chance to escape. She ends up moving to a rural finca in southern Spain, looking after the owner's Iberico pigs, learning about secret gastronomic societies... and finding a new zest for life and love along the way.

Released in June 2023 from Transworld, you can preorder here.

Finally, we're thrilled to welcome Annie May Taylor to the Agency, as she joined Emily Glenister's list last week.

Annie is a previously published author of two psychological thrillers (Forget Me Not and Innocent or Guilty?) and has signed with Emily for her new book, FOLLOW BACK, a dark and twisty influencer-based tale set in Whitstable ... Watch this space!
