We're kicking off this week's news roundup with a big congratulations to client Joanna Toye, who this week, saw the publication of her new book, Heartache for the Shop Girls.

This is the third in the Shop Girls series, set in Marlow's Department Store, and as war rages on, Lily's family receives a knock at the door - forcing them to face their biggest challenge yet.

This week, Woman's Weekly picked the book for review: "compelling... The sense of wartime community is strong, and this evocative novel may just be the balm our souls need right now."

Death of a Shipbuilder, the sixth in L.C. Tyler's John Grey series has had its cover revealed, and we absolutely love it! The book is due for publication in September 2020

In more L.C. Tyler news, the next two John Grey books have been snapped up by Little, Brown imprint Constable & Robinson.

Kate Mallinder's forthcoming book, Asking For A Friend, has been reviewed pre-publication in the Daily Mail, with the paper's Sally Morris saying: "a feel-good adventure that reinforces how friendship can be a source of strength in the face of intimidation — from others and from within."

The book is published this coming Thursday (4th June) - pre-order your copy here!

Delighted for Julie Caplin, who saw her book The Northern Lights Lodge, enter the Der Spiegel charts in Germany at No.20! Absolutely fantastic news, and very well-deserved for this gorgeous, wintry romance.

Also in the Romantic Escapes series, Julie's next book, The Little Teashop In Tokyo, has sold to Grada in the Czech Republic. It is due for publication in the UK on the 11th June.

We were so pleased to see YA debut The Sky Is Mine, from Amy Beashel, be selected by Anstey Harris (The Truths and Triumphs of Grace Atherton) as one of her picks in last week's heat magazine. "This book is a perfect crossover between young adult and mainstream fiction. Its themes are dark, but its characters are bold and engaging... I loved watching Izzy, the main character, grow into herself through the story."

This moving and powerful book is available to buy here.

It has been announced that client Yvonne Singh will be a judge for the SSI Leeds Prize.

The SSI Leeds Literary Prize is a national biennial prize for unpublished fiction from UK black and Asian women. Previous prize alumni include Kit de Waal, Winnie M. Li and Mahusda Snaith.
