Brian McGilloway's recent release, The Empty Room, has picked up a fantastic review from the Irish Independent:

"An utterly gripping and propulsive read, as one would expect from one of Ireland's finest thriller writers."

The cover for Paul Fraser Collard's new Jack Lark book, Diamond Hunter (October 2022, Headline), was revealed last week:

South Africa, 1871. Jack Lark no longer walks alone. With the worldly Anna Baker by his side, he travels to the Cape Colony diamond fields determined to seek their fortune - and an adventurous new life together.

The journey north soon turns violent as tensions erupt between other hopeful diggers and a gang of Boer men. Everyone has their eye on the same elusive prize - and some will stop at nothing to get it.

For Jack and Anna, unearthing a diamond is only half the battle. Getting out of the mines alive will prove far more difficult - and dangerous. And when the worst happens, Jack finds himself tested as no enemy, no man and no war has ever before.

Congratulations to M. W. Craven, who saw the third in Washington Poe series, The Curator, awarded five stars in the VN (Vrij Nederland) Detective and Thriller guide - thus shortlisting the book for Thriller of the Year!

Only a handful of titles receive the honour per year, and previous winners include Stephen King and John le Carre.

Congratulations, Mike!

The forthcoming new novel from Adam Hamdy, The Other Side of Night, has received a fantastic review from the Best Thriller Books review site:

"A gorgeous, legacy-defining, genius work of art that Adam Hamdy will long be remembered and revered for creating and gifting to readers. The Other Side Of Night is astoundingly breathtaking and one of the most memorable, thought-provoking novels I have ever read.  Destined to be included in any conversation about the best books of 2022."

Well. You can't get better than that!

Finally, it was revealed over the weekend that client Ragnar Jónasson and fellow crime heavyweight, Anthony Horowitz, have teamed up to write a theatre play together.

The play will be set in a bookshop and feature just four suspects, taking inspiration from Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap.
