And double congratulations to Phyllida Shrimpton: Every Shade of Happy has been shortlisted for the Gorsedh Kernow's Holyer an Gof Award.

The annual Gorsedh Kernow Holyer an Gof Awards were instigated in 1996 for books published in 1995 and are so named in memory of Redruth publisher and Cornish Bard Leonard Truran, whose Bardic name was Holyer an Gof – Follower of The Smith. The scheme was established and is organised by Bards of Gorsedh Kernow to promote books about Cornwall, set in Cornwall or in Cornish (Kernewek).

Released just over a week ago, we are absolutely delighted to report that M. W. Craven's new book, Fearless, has stormed into the Sunday Times Top 10 at no.8. Congratulations, Mike!

With its release date next week, Eve Smith's forthcoming book, One, has been included in the New Scientist's roundup for the best new science fiction and fantasy books for July 2023.

"I love a good speculative thriller, and this one sounds pleasingly terrifying."

The first few endorsements for Femi Kayode's sensational second Philip Taiwo book, Gaslight, are in and we couldn't be more pleased!

"I loved it. The atmosphere and characters were authentic to the point I felt I could recognise them, and I was captivated to find out who was responsible and why."
Amen Alonge

"In the depths of faith, dark secrets lie buried. Welcome to the heart-pounding world of Femi Kayode’s Gaslight, where shadows dance to the rhythm of danger."

"The charismatic pastor of a wealthy Nigerian mega-church is accused of killing his missing wife. But is the case as cut and dried as so many want it to be? Investigative psychologist Dr Philip Taiwo is back and what a triumph Gaslight is! Femi Kayode delivers a brilliant, uncompromising story rich with humanity and intrigue. His characters burst from the page and the atmosphere he creates whisks you across the world in the blink of an eye. A wild, exhilarating ride from cover to cover."

Sometimes it's best to let the past stay buried...

Thirty years ago, Jess's mother, Nora, disappeared while on a charity hike in the US. The devastating loss has afflicted Jess well into her adult life and even inspired her decision to become an investigative journalist.

So when Jess receives an anonymous tip telling her that remains have been recovered in the spot her mother disappeared, she wastes no time in jumping on a plane.

They say the Appalachian Mountains have secrets, but as she begins to ask around, she learns that the locals do too. But no matter how much they lie, she is determined to find the truth - even if it will irrevocably change her future.

Someone wants to keep the past buried. And they will stop at nothing to keep Jess as quiet as the tranquil mountain trail itself...

Mollies is set amidst the hidden world of Georgian London’s gay scene; Gabriel Griffin must uncover a traitor while risking his life in the most dangerous of ways: by falling in love.
