Raven Books Publishing Director Alison Hennessey acquired UK & Commonwealth rights, including audio, for the two as yet unnamed high concept novels from Harry Illingworth at DHH Literary Agency in a major deal.
"The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle and The Devil and the Dark Water have launched Stu as one of the most imaginative, creative and original writers of his generation, and rightly won him fans and prizes across the world," says Alison Hennessey, "the publication of both titles at Raven Books has been a joy to work on for me and the whole team from start to finish, and I can’t wait to see just where he takes us next."
Says Stuart Turton: "I can't believe Alison's bought my next two books! They're both nuts. She's nuts. I'm thrilled. Honestly, I can't believe how lucky I am to carry on working with the brilliant team at Raven, and shamelessly taking the credit for their talent and hard work. I'm so proud of everything we've achieved together already, and what we're going to do next. It's going to be fun! And nuts. Did I mention nuts?"
Stuart Turton’s The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle was the second best-selling hardback crime debut in 2018, winning the Costa First Novel Award and the Books Are My Bag Readers Award for Fiction, spending three weeks in the Sunday Times bestseller charts and has been published in over thirty-four territories around the world and optioned for TV by House Productions.
