Rachel May Quin
Agent: Emily Glenister
Rachel May Quin has spent over a decade turning other people’s books into bestsellers; now she's written a book of her own. As an award-winning marketing consultant who has worked across the Big 5 and independent publishers, she's picked up multiple Book Marketing Society awards, two British Book Award shortlistings (2025 and 2026), and two Futurebook Freelancer of the Year shortlistings (2024 and 2025).
Born in Warrington and raised across the north, Rachel studied History at Lancaster University — chosen deliberately for its magnificent castle and connection with the Wars of the Roses conflict — where her dissertation focused on slandered women in the medieval and early modern period. Born and raised on books, she read The Other Boleyn Girl at an inappropriately young age and loved Wolf Hall so muchshe had the first line inked on her skin. Her debut novel began life as a PhD idea, benched the moment she realised it would mean going through the horror of learning Latin all over again.
Formerly living the publishing gal dream in London, she now lives in Canterbury and shares her home with three cats, a Mini American Shepherd, a tenrec, and more books than she could reasonably read in a lifetime. When she’s not reading, writing or frantically fielding emails, she’s chronically online, usually procrastinating.
