Sarah May Hayes

Sarah grew up in South East London, where she currently lives with her husband and daughter. She read English Literature at the University of Kent and trained as a journalist at the Press Association.

Sarah’s passion for words began at fourteen, when she won a creative writing competition at school - she was the only person who had entered, but she was spurred on nonetheless.

Sarah enjoys writing about messy women and the complexities of love and family relationships, often drawing from her experience of growing up in a large Anglo-Irish family.

She is now working on her debut novel, in between reading, listening to sad music, and trvaelling as much as her bank balance will allow.
