Summer on the Little Cornish Isles: the Starfish Studio
(The Little Cornish Isles Book 3)
Phillipa Ashley
The Starfish is owned by Archie Pendower - an elderly artist and grandfather to Jake. After a fall, Archie decides the gallery is too much for him and decides to let it out, as he’s neglected it in recent years. While recovering from his hip operation, he stays with his son and daughter-in-law in Cornwall while he slowly recovers and asks Jake to manage the letting and handover of the studio to Poppy.
Poppy and her husband Daniel fell in love with the Starfish Studio on a holiday to St Piran’s and they decide to give up their jobs and have a total lifestyle change to run the gallery. However, soon after taking it over, Daniel leaves Poppy for another woman.
Jake is a professional photographer of renown who spends much of his time travelling on assignments for nature and wildlife magazines. Sadly, Jake lost his fiancée in a boating accident on Scilly three years before the novel opens and he now avoids the place, blaming it for the death of his fiancée. Secretly Archie has an ulterior motivation for staying away longer in Cornwall - he’s away.
Reluctant at first, Jake is given the opportunity to stay longer on the island, but will he take it? And will Poppy be able to turn a joint dream in to something purely her own?
